About Caroline:

Picture

I am very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world – the Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne, Australia.

I share my home, a 1930s cottage surrounded by trees and garden, with my husband, my two daughters, and a fluffy chocolate-brown dog named LuLu.

I love being a mum to my two girls, and I am passionate about writing. Being around my children, when they were very young, gave me an idea for a children’s story. This story, Magic Mummy, was a finalist in the inaugural Kathleen Julia Bates Writing Competition for a picture book (top 10 out of 207 entries). In 2009, Magic Mummy, was published by Black Dog Books (a division of Walker Books). It was an exciting time because it was my first ever published book.

Since then I have had several more picture books published with
Little Hare Books (a division of Hardie Grant Egmont). These books have been published in many countries including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US, China, France, South Africa, Singapore, Canada, Taiwan, Korea and Germany.

I am writing other stories all the time. I love to write for children of all ages, from babies to young adults.

To find out more about my books, please click on the tab at the top of this page that says ‘Books for Children.’ To find out about me, when I was little, please click ‘Growing Up.”

I belong to two wonderful writers’ groups; The Dandenong Ranges Children and Young Adults Writing Group, and the Lazy River Writers. We support and encourage each other in our writing endeavours, and help each other to become better writers. As part of my ‘apprenticeship’ in writing, I have completed several units of a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing. My University qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters degree in Business.
