About Caroline:
I am very lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world – the Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne/Naarm, Australia.
I share my home, a 1930s cottage surrounded by trees and garden, with my husband, my two daughters, and a cute but frenetic cavoodle dog named Cookie.
I love being a mum to my two girls, and I am passionate about writing. Being around my children, when they were very young, gave me an idea for a children’s story. This story, Magic Mummy, was a finalist in the inaugural Kathleen Julia Bates Writing Competition for a picture book (top 10 out of 207 entries). In 2009, Magic Mummy, was published by Black Dog Books (a division of Walker Books). It was an exciting time because it was my first ever published book.
Since then I have had several more picture books published with Little Hare Books (a division of Hardie Grant Egmont). These books have been published in many countries including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US, China, France, South Africa, Singapore, Canada, Taiwan, Korea and Germany.
In June of 2024 I was thrilled to be announced the winner of The Text Prize. My first book for middle grade readers, A GIFT FROM THE BIRDS, was published in August 2025.
